The Program of Community Development Projects is one of the essential parts of MINKA´s work with the communities. The profit of all commercial activities and some small external donations is distributed once a year among all communities. These funds finance development projects which are defined democratically in the annual meeting of the organizations and therefore suggested by the communities themselves.
The Program of Community Development Projects of MINKA Fair Trade began in 1977 and since then the program has been able to help over 5,000 producers and their communities.
Among the development projects is the construction of rural infrastructures like quays, latrines or paths as well the equipment of the communities with furniture, tools and sanitary facilities etc. for collective use.
